The Public Employees Benefits Board (PEBB) and the Health Care Authority (HCA) want us all to strive for overall wellness! In doing so, PEBB and HCA have offered a Wellness Incentive to all benefit eligible Faculty, Staff and hourly employees.

Points earned between January 1, 2016 and September 30, 2016 are used to establish eligibility for the wellness incentive in 2017.

What is the Incentive, and Why You Should Participate

Employees may be eligible for a $125 incentive by responding to a wellness attestation questionnaire and participating in and tracking their wellness activities.  Depending on your WSU/PEBB medical plan, you will receive:

  • A $125 reduction in the subscriber's 2017 PEBB medical deductible (if enrolled in a PEBB classic and value health plan).

       OR

  •  A one-time deposit of $125 into the subscriber's health savings account (if enrolled in a PEBB consumer-directed health plan).

Frequently Asked Questions
How Do I Participate?

Step 1: Create your account at: www.smarthealth.hca.wa.gov
Step 2: Choose your main focus activity for 2016
Step 3: Complete your health assessment (required to earn 2017 incentive). This will earn you 800 points.
Step 4: Complete activities of your choice, while recording your progress. As an existing employee, you will need to complete 1,200 points worth of activities.

Who Is Eligible?

Employees eligible and participating in a PEBB medical plan are eligible to participate.  If an employee retires, separates/resigns or goes on Leave Without Pay, and are not enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B, they will be able to continue to participate in the incentive.

Spouses or registered domestic partners can participate in activities and completion of the Health Assessment, however, only the subscriber will receive the $125 incentive.
