Long-Term Care Insurance Plan

Until August 1, 2014, the Washington State HCA & PEBB sponsored a voluntary Group Long-Term Care (LTC) Insurance Plan for all actively-at-work employees eligible for PEBB medical coverage, and their eligible spouses/qualified domestic partners, parents and parents-in-law.  The insurance was underwritten by John Hancock Life Insurance Company, Boston, MA one of the premier Long-Term Care Insurance carriers.

At this time, this benefit is no longer offered to new applicants.  The carrier, John Hancock Life Insurance Company, closed this benefit as of August 1, 2014.

This decision does not affect any insured members currently enrolled in this coverage.  John Hancock will continue to provide ongoing service to existing members under PEBB’s group LTC insurance policy.  Current insured members who have questions about their LTC insurance can call John Hancock customer service at (800)399-7271.

The PEBB Program is proactively seeking new LTC insurers to provide group coverage.  In the meantime, members can review the Office of the Insurance Commissioner’s (OIC) website about long-term care insurance or read A Consumer’s Guide to Buying Long-Term Care insurance.
