WSU provides Basic Term Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance for benefit eligible employees in the amount of $25,000 Basic Life Insurance for death from any cause and $5,000 Basic Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance. WSU provides this coverage at no cost to you.
Additional Coverage Options
Employees may design their own plan by purchasing additional Term Life Insurance coverage for themselves, a spouse, and each eligible dependent child. Some amounts require the employee to provide evidence of insurability. Employees may also purchase Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance.
Employees may purchase up to $750,000 of supplemental coverage, in $10,000 increments. They also have the option of purchasing additional AD&D coverage, up to $250,000.
Coverage on a spouse includes the option of a basic $2500 policy, with supplemental options available up to one-half of what the employee carries and AD&D .
There is also a basic $2500 policy available for children, as well as AD&D coverage.
